Where were you

in my dark night?

Did you feel my pain?

Could you sense my fright?

Were you who I touched

when I reached out to see,

what had become,

of the rest of me?

Were you the force

that kept me sane?

When all was lost

only love remained?

Yes, it was you!

No one else could do

the things you did

to pull me through.

And now that I'm free

and home again,

let's forget the pain

a new life begin.

The joy of these years

will replace the tears,

'cause, in my arms will be,

the rest of me.
