INTRODUCTION
If you are like me, and the Apostle John, you daily call and look for the coming of the Lord Jesus to snatch, (rapture), us away to live forever in His presence! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
However, Jesus said in Matthew 24:36
Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
The scripture says 4 things will happen before the Lord comes to take us home. They are:
- A great falling away from the teaching in the church! If you go to Church as I do, no doubt you have seen this happen! We used to attend a Presbyterian Church here in Omaha where the pastor preached about salvation like my dad used to. Calling people to repent of their sins and come to Jesus with repentance and forgiveness!
I had heard the pastor preaching on the radio and was so impressed I called asking to have meeting with him. I was so pleased with what he said and the services that I became a member! Several years later I noticed a difference in his message and asked him about it. He told me nothing had changed. It was about a year after that conversation that we were called to the Church for an announcement. When we sat down, they showed us a video of the pastor telling us that he would be leaving as he felt there was something he needed to do in his life. We found out later he had left his wife and their children to join another man in a homosexual relationship!
Wow! A great falling away! I believe he found a church that would accept him as pastor for they wanted to accept everyone in love! The great falling away!!
- Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
One only needs to watch the news to hear event after event of “natural” disasters happing all over the world! Some will say. “Oh, these things have always happened!” Not as often or in as many places! And never have we had as many wars and rumors of wars as we do today! It seems as if nobody wants to get along with anyone else! Look at Putin’s war in Ukraine! There is no reason for that war except his pride and wanting more Russian territory!
- A great revelation of spiritual truths! One of the reasons for this is that there will be archaeological finding in the area surrounding current Israel! Have you been watching the news lately? There have been findings of ancient writings in stone confirming the words in our Bibles! What we have now is ancient proof that Jesus did live here on earth and that what the Bible says He did, He did!
- So, what are we looking for now to occur? A great outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the world! It is prophesied that there would be unexplainable miracles, healings, and multiple people coming to know and accept Jesus as lord all over the world!
If you watch the news or read Christian papers from the Christian organizations, it is happening! Even in America! Did you see the report of the collage students that went to their normal Church service and were so moved by the Spirit of God that they continued in a prayer service for days!
So, what are we looking for now?
The Rapture! Any day now! So, I tell people, “Get ready for Jesus!”
