IN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS

I WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT TWO SCRIPTURES AND THEN WE CAN DISCUSS WHAT THEY MEAN TO US TODAY.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created h him; male and female created he them.

2 Colossians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Colossians 5:18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2Colossians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

He didn’t want a slave, but a creature who would do the job of developing the earth into a wonderful environment where one day He, God, could bring His kingdom to and enjoy each other in a different environment than Heaven. He wanted man to have complete authority on all of God’s other creations on earth just as God had dominion over all things in Heaven. Father, God, who knows everything from beginning to end, knew exactly what He would do when man took his eye off of God his creator, and had a plan in place to rectify the error.

God’s plan hasn’t changed, He will have the perfect creation loving and serving Him for all eternity! He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for disobedience or sin, which means missing the mark, so now, when we accept Jesus as Lord of our lives, He takes that old dead spirit that sin put in us, throws it away in the trash and creates in us a new spirit that, (are you ready?), is made in His image and likeness, just like in the beginning! Now when Father God looks at a born-again spirit, (you and me), it’s like looking in a mirror, because we look just like Him! And He and Jesus come and go in our spirits as They will, and the Holy Spirit lives in us forever starting when we are “bor
